Mannoroth fighting Illidan and friends. |
Midway through the battle, Illidan drinks from the Vial of Eternity and becomes the winged demon form we know from Black Temple. Mannoroth of course is the pit lord that corrupted the orcs with the blood curse and was later destroyed by Grom Hellscream, lifting the curse.
Being transformed into dirty night elves aside, the Well of Eternity is a damn cool instance! It was definitely better than the End Time, the first instance. As a barely ilevel 353 tank, these instances are hard; as hard as the Icecrown dungeons were back in Wrath of the Lich King. I was lucky enough to run with some pretty good players and we had only a little difficulty. I was certainly the weakest link as far as my gear went. I think I managed my cooldowns well enough to make a difference.
I have not yet ventured into the Hour of Twilight, the final dungeon; however, I plan to very soon. As far as loot goes, I did get one tanking upgrade. The quest rewards for each dungeon are disappointing. The only tank reward I have seen is a gun.
I will be farming these heroics as much as possible; I have quite a ways to go to reach the 373 ilevel requirement to get into the raid finder. On another topic, there has been discussion on the forums lately of Blizzard's horde bias and I think this instance is proof that Blizzard has some very good alliance story lines and characters, and that any bias is just nitpicking by fanboys with too much time on their hands. I'd pick Illidan over Thrall in a heartbeat.
